Food Sospeso Delivers First Major Food Donation Through Its New Humanitarian Platform
Partnership with Fiasconaro and Sant’Egidio Marks a Major Milestone for the Rotary Club of New York Initiative
New York, NY — July 22, 2026
Food Sospeso, Inc., a New York-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established as an initiative of the Rotary Club of New York (RCNY), has successfully completed its first large-scale food donation, marking an important milestone in the organization’s mission to fight food insecurity with dignity, transparency, and community collaboration.
The Food Sospeso initiative was conceived by members of the Rotary Club of New York to create a modern, transparent, and scalable model for food assistance. During the past year, the initiative evolved from an idea into an operational nonprofit organization with a proprietary technology platform that connects donors, local restaurants, community organizations, and individuals experiencing food insecurity.
Unlike traditional donation models, the Food Sospeso platform enables every donated meal to be tracked from the donor to the beneficiary. Donors receive confirmation that their contribution has been delivered, providing a new level of transparency and accountability in charitable giving.
The platform serves vulnerable New Yorkers, including low-income families, children, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and people experiencing homelessness.
Food Sospeso officially launched its operations in June 2026.
Last week, Italian specialty food producer FIASCONARO USA CORPORATION became one of the organization’s first major corporate supporters by donating approximately $9,500 worth of premium Italian food products.
On July 21, 2026, Food Sospeso delivered the entire donation to Sant’Egidio, one of New York City’s most respected charitable organizations, which provides daily support to homeless individuals and families in need throughout Manhattan.
During the first day of distribution, Sant’Egidio volunteers served more than 250 meals, many of which included products donated through Food Sospeso. Distribution of the remaining donated products will continue over the coming weeks as part of Sant’Egidio’s ongoing outreach programs.
Food Sospeso will continue sharing updates and photographs documenting the impact of this donation.
“This first large-scale donation demonstrates that communities, businesses, and nonprofit organizations can work together through a transparent platform that ensures every contribution reaches people who truly need it,” said Alexander Litvinov, President of Food Sospeso, Inc. and Board Director of the Rotary Club of New York. “This is only the beginning of what we hope will become a citywide—and ultimately international—network of dignity-based food assistance.”
The Rotary Club of New York continues to support innovative service initiatives that address pressing community needs through sustainable partnerships and measurable impact.
