In his address, FDC Flynn noted that the strength of the department lies in the unwavering support firefighters show for one another. It is this spirit of unity—where one stands with the other—that enables the FDNY to overcome its most complex operational challenges and succeed as a cohesive team in fulfilling its critical mission for New York City. The FDNY is the largest municipal Fire Department in the United States and the largest emergency response agency in the world

We inducted new member Beverly Thompson a former UN leader in the budget division. Then President Malika presented FF James Lafferty with the "Service Above Self" Award. Chair(s) of the Foundation Helen Reisler, President during 9/11 jointly with PP presented the FDNY with a donation check from our club's foundation. First Deputy Commissioner Daniel Flynn was presented with Honorary Membership in the Rotary Club of New York #6.
