
H.E. Senen T. Mangalile, Consul General of the Philippines in New York

Consul General Senen T. Mangalile is the Consul General of the Philippines in
New York with responsibility for protecting the interests of Filipinos in and
promoting bilateral relations with the ten states of the US Northeast under the
Consulate’s jurisdiction.
Mr. Mangalile holds the rank of Chief of Mission or Ambassador at the
Department of Foreign Affairs which he joined in 1997 and where his most recent
role was Assistant Secretary of the Office of Consular Affairs. Abroad, he
previously served at Philippine diplomatic posts in Switzerland, the United
Kingdom, Turkiye, and Japan.
He has a Master's of Science degree in Diplomacy, Statecraft and Foreign Policy
from Loughborough (pronounced Luff-bruh) University, United Kingdom and a
Bachelor of Arts, Major in Philosophy from Immaculate Conception Seminary,
Philippines.
He is currently Vice President for Asia-Pacific of the Society of Foreign Consuls
of New York and a member of the Consular Corps Association of Philadelphia.
He is a member of the Rotary Club of Manila (RCM), the first Rotary Club in Asia;
a Knight Grand Officer of the Knights of Rizal (KGOR); an Honorary Member of
the Foreign Policy Association, the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Philippine
– New York Chapter, and the Rotary Club of Barasoain. He is a Freeman of the
City of London and a member of other civic and alumni organizations.
He is married to the former Maria Fe H. Barcelon with whom he has two
daughters.

He holds a BSc in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Boğaziçi University, an MSc in Operations Research from Columbia University, and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He was also a scholar at Stanford University, focusing on artificial intelligence, computer imaging, and integrated circuits.
