EndPlasticSoup is a global environmental project, an initiative already supported by thousands of Rotarians and hundreds of Rotary, Rotaract & Interact Clubs worldwide. By 2050 there should be no more plastic soup in the oceans, seas, no more plastic waste in our lakes, rivers, forests, parks and streets.
Our 2 speakers are:
Marja Ritterfeld born in Almelo/Netherlands. Masters in Education, German Studies. From 1979 to 2020 employed in the Dutch and German school system (Principal, Senior Teacher). Author of two textbooks for Dutch as a foreign language, long-time columnist for regional radio stations in the German/Dutch border area. Language Coach for German and Dutch companies.
In 2003 founding member of the German-Dutch Rotary Club Uelsen/Coevorden, in 2016/17 served as its president. Initiator of the Rotarian event "Uelsener Musiknacht" and the RYLA seminar "Proud to be European“.
2020-2021 District Governor, Rotary District 1850. Board member EndPlasticSoup, Chair EndPlasticSoup German Chapter since July 2021.
Gert-Jan Van Dommelen also born in the Netherlands, is co-founder and board member of the worldwide EndPlasticSoup initiative for Rotary to solve and prevent plastic pollution.
He is an experienced program manager and was consulting leader technology services Benelux at IBM Corporation. He has a successful track record in the financial, public, healthcare and industrial sectors.
Gert-Jan is passionate about the Circular Economy, next generation living, learning and building a future of inclusiveness, people matter in his home town and abroad. He is a Paul Harris fellow with Rotary International and an honored Member of the Dutch Royal Order of Oranje Nassau.
