Dr Stephanie Dreyfuerst – member of the Rotary Club Wiesbaden-Kochbrunnen (your partner club) – will talk about the (stereo-)typical German fascination with the forest. She will tell us stories of “Monsters, Love, And Fairy Tales”, starting with the Roman historian Tacitus and ending with the concept of „Waldkindergarten“.
Stephanie Dreyfuerst has a doctorate in German Literature, she is an art historian, writing researcher, and musiclogist, but also a carpenter by trade. Her never ending fascination with cultural phenomena from the Middle Ages to the Early Modern period sometimes culminates in articles and public talks. She is currently the director of Wiesbaden’s Community College (Volkshochschule) that offers a wide range of courses to the public.
