Welcome President Lawrence CohenRCNY began it's 110th year on Jul 11th with the Installation of President Lawrence Cohen, new Officers and Board. of Directors. Presentations were made by President 2018-19 Ted Perednia and RI Director Jeffry Cadorette among several others. Trustee and PP, PDG Helen Reisler gave an overview on our rich history. Recognition was a major theme for all.

The beginning of the 110th Rotary Year

On July 11, 2019 the Rotary Club of New York and 80 attendees celebrated the beginning of the 11th decade of RCNY in the city of New York in the Library of the Union League Club of NYC.
The meeting was opened by President Ted Perednia who welcomed the Rotary dignitaries including RI Director Jeffry Cadorette, current DG Kris Chittur, incoming DG Ahmub Ahmad and his wife Bina as well as ADG Nadine Homann and ADE Mary Shackleton and many more district Rotarians Friends and guests.
President Elect Gerard Schriffen delivered a wonderful invocation. Then President 2018-19 Ted took a look back at this past year and stated that RCNY had the wind in its sails and many things got accomplished in a productive and harmonious atmosphere. He thanked Executive Director Andreas Runggatscher for his great support and outstanding work throughout the year. He then invited Trustee and PP, PDG Helen Reisler to the podium who gave an overview on our rich history and then presented jointly with Chair of Foundation Jim Thompson and President 2019-2020 Larry Cohen a nice trophy and plaque to Ted for his outstanding support and Service Above Self to both the Foundation and the club. Then Helen introduced Larry Cohen and went over the many accomplishments of him both professionally and as a successful member of many non-profit boards and associations. Impressive indeed.
RI Director Jeffry Cadorette, who made the trip from Philadelphia on purpose gave a speech on the importance of growing Rotary and who RI depends on historic and meaningful clubs like ours to set the tone and direction. He then swore in the board of directors and then President Larry Cohen. Larry then gave a detailed presentation on this past year and the many projects on a club and district level and an outlook on the new year.
The meeting concluded with presentations by Sarah Corry from Purple Heart Reunited who announced the August 7 event, where RCNY is the title sponsor. She received a grant check from Jim Thompson. So did Sister Madeleine from Fraternite for their outstanding work in the Soup Kitchen in Spanish Harlem.
The meeting adjourned with photo ops. A historic day for RCNY and the beginning of another wonderfully promising year!
